The Franklin-Simpson Wildcats' tennis team is preparing for the upcoming region tournaments after defeating the Warren Central Dragons April 29 at Jim Roberts Community Park.

In individual matches, senior Dax Wren and juniors Chase Johnson and Hallie-Anna Lindsey won their matches 8-0. Junior Shelby Johnston won her match by a score of 8-2.

In doubles action, the team of Johnston and Lindsey won their match 8-2 while Johnson and Wren won their match 8-5.

The region tournament will be played on several different tennis courts throughout Bowling Green. According to head coach Lex Lindsey, Hallie-Anna Lindsey was given a number eight seed as an individual and will play in the opening round of the region at Greenwood on Saturday morning. In doubles, Johnson and Wren also drew a number eight seed and are scheduled to play on Saturday morning at Keriakes Park. Players can advance to the state tournament by reaching the semi-final round of the region tournament.
