Baseball will be returning to Franklin for the 2021 season. The Franklin Duelers who played their inaugural season in 2019 in the Ohio Valley collegiate summer league. Had their second season postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Duelers will be playing a 44 game schedule. Opening night for the OVL will be June 4, as the Madisonville Miners come to the Dueling grounds to take on the Duelers at 7:05 p.m.

The Duelers will be managed by Matty Holem. Holem comes to the Duelers after spending last summer with the Wisconsin Woodchuck of the Northwoods league. Where he severed as the teams hitting coach.

“I am very blessed and excited for this opportunity to come to Franklin, Holem, who has also spent time as a coach in professional baseball and other college summer leagues, said. “Its a wonderful community, and I look forward to spending the summer there.”

“We are really excited about the guys we have been able to get to commit to this thing for the 2021 season. It is going to be really exciting to see these guys take the field everyday.” Holem said.

The Duelers roster will be filled with some of the best college players from across the country.
