The Franklin-Simpson Lady Cats picked up their third win in match play this season as they defeated the Greenwood Lady Gators, 221 to 229, last Thursday at the Paul Walker Golf Course in Bowling Green.

“They all had their good and not so good moments,” Lady Cats head coach Sarah Dinwiddie said. “It was a tough course with thick rough and slow greens but it was good for the girls to play a different course and they made adjustments.”

Sophomore Conleigh Wilson led the Lady Cats with a nine-hole score of 46 with 7th grader Chloe Chaney shooting a score of 56. Senior Maddie Hall chipped in with a score of 57 with 8th graders Morgan Hunter firing a score of 63 and Meryn McBrayer rounding out the scorecard with her score of 67.

“Every match is an opportunity to learn and improve and they are all doing that,” Dinwiddie said. “At the end of the day, they finished smiling and we got the victory so it was a great day.”
