The Franklin-Simpson Lady Cats’ volleyball team defeated the Warren Central Lady Dragons in straight sets, 25-16 and 25-11, last Thursday night as part of Senior Night at the F-S Gym.

“Warren Central is getting better and hats off to their program,” Lady Cats head coach Jerrod Long said. “They gave us a good fight and a bright future but we took care of business where we needed to. At the end of the day, the girls had fun, played safe and nobody got hurt. They all had smiles on their faces and that’s all that really matters.”

Senior Fantasia Suggs served a team high of two aces. She also had six assists and two digs, Senior Carly Bush led the team with eight kills along with an ace and a dig. Junior Aysia Fuller had a team high of 10 assists with senior Alera Barbee having a team high of six digs. She also had seven kills with an assist. Senior Lauren Johnson had three kills with an ace. Senior Georgia Perry had an assist and a dig with juniors Alyssa Spears having three digs, Hannah Wallace having a dig and freshman Jenna Smith serving an ace.

“We played together as a team. We had a lot of communication and we all had a lot of fun playing together,” Wallace said. “It was great to close the match with all the seniors together on the floor getting the final points for the win.”

“We played really well. Our defense, our hits were really good. We had a couple of missed serves but I am proud of everyone and how we played tonight,” Smith said. “Right now, we are getting ready for Todd County Central in the district tournament. Our practices and training has stepped up and if we play our hearts out and together, we can win that match and get to the region.”

The Lady Cats will play the Todd County Central Lady Rebels in the 13th District Volleyball Tournament hosted by Logan County High School. Date and match times for the tournament have not been announced.
