The All A Classic state tournament was held this weekend in Owensboro. The 4th Region champion Russellville Lady Panthers won two games on Saturday and an early morning game on Sunday. Bethlehem was the team who was able to knock Russellville out of the tournament after the fourth game.

Tonight, the Clash of the Cats is scheduled to take place on Russellville’s softball and baseball fields for the first time in almost two years. Both first pitches will be tossed at 5:30 pm.

The Clash of the Cats was played at Logan County High School on Friday. Russellville swept both games for the second time this season. The Panthers won 53-42. The Lady Panthers squeaked out a 32-31 victory.

On Monday, Logan County hosted Daviess County as the Lady Cougars looked to extend a two-game winning streak. The visitors had different plans. The Daviess County Lady Panthers won 51-35.

Friday night was district night for the Lady Cougars and Lady Panthers. Logan County played at Franklin-Simpson. Russellville played at Todd County. The boys were not able to play due to the quarantine. Both teams lost on the road in district matchups.

Logan County finally got the 2021 season rolling with a home-opening doubleheader against Allen County on Tuesday. The Patriots won both games by small margins. The girls fell 42-39, while the boys suffered a 43-42 setback.

The high school basketball season finally got moving last week after a delay this year. Russellville hit the road to open the season at Caverna on January 5th. Both the Panthers and Lady panthers picked up a win to open 2021.

The 2020 football season was quite a bit different for everyone. The season start date was pushed back to September 11th this year. In 2019, the opening game was played on August 23rd.
