The Russellville Panthers boys soccer team won the 4th Region All “A” District championship game on Saturday after defeating Glasgow 3-2.
It’s homecoming night at Logan County High School. The big night features a big game. Two unbeaten teams will hit the field at 7 p.m. The Cougars (3-0) welcome the Greenwood Gators (4-0) under the Friday night lights.
Week four is set to kick off tonight for local high school football. Logan County will finally get to play a home game, while Russellville hits the road after playing the first three weeks at home.
The always much-anticipated Clash of the Cats football game has been canceled by COVID-19 for now. After a large number of athletes were placed on the COVID-19 quarantine list this week, the decision was made to push the game back to a date in October.
With all of the local sports teams trying to piece together another season while dealing with COVID-19 canceled events, the Logan County Lady Cougars have started strong in 2021. The ladies are currently (4-1-1) early in the season. Three of those wins were shutouts.

On Tuesday, the Greenwood Gators visited Logan County High School for a late-season game. The Gators (20-13) defeated the Cougars (18-12) 4-1 the first time the two teams met on May 17th. On Tuesday, the Cougars won 14-4.
The All A Classic state tournament was held this weekend in Owensboro. The 4th Region champion Russellville Lady Panthers won two games on Saturday and an early morning game on Sunday. Bethlehem was the team who was able to knock Russellville out of the tournament after the fourth game.
