Many Logan Countians are experiencing withdrawal from their local Sonic in Russellville which has been closed since the beginning of January for remodeling.
“It’s been really interesting how people have reacted to Sonic being closed,” said Mandy Gaddie, Manager of the Russellville eatery. “I can’t go anywhere without someone saying they are having withdraws.”
Gaddie says the restaurant will reopen at the end of February but that will depend on if everything is on schedule.
“The original plan was to replace the floors because they were bad. This was only supposed to take two weeks to do,” Gaddie said. “When they got in there, however, they found water damage to the walls and have now decided to replace them. This, unfortunately, has pushed the reopening.”
Gaddie says customers won’t see a big difference from the outside. One change they will notice, however, is the carhops will no longer be coming from doors on the side. There will be a front entrance with the renovations, as well as an expansion of the indoors.
“It feels good to be loved,” Gaddie said of customers missing their Sonic adding she and her employees are ready to come back.
