At approximately 7:30 a.m. Monday morning, the Logan County Sheriff’s Department responded to a multi-vehicle accident on KY103, approximately 3.5 miles north of Auburn.

A 2001 RAM 2500 pickup, driven by Travis Mast, of Whitesville, Tenn., was traveling southbound on KY 103 when the enclosed trailer it was pulling began fishtailing due to the slick roadway. This caused the vehicle to cross the centerline into the northbound lane. The RAM 2500 struck a 2014 Subaru driven by Kellie Shockley, head-on. Lonnie Detweiler, of Auburn, was following the Subaru in a Toyota sedan and struck the passenger side of the pickup.

Shockley and her passenger Nova Shockley were transported to Logan Memorial Hospital by Logan County EMS for treatment of their injuries. Shockley, 44, was later pronounced deceased by the Logan County Coroner, Mary Givens.

There were no other injuries.
