A Franklin man was arrested on a charge of theft by unlawful taking - auto over $500 by the Simpson County Sheriff's Office on Friday, May 1.
Steven Chad Moore, 43, was arrested by deputy sheriff Matt Freeman just after 9:30 p.m.
The arrest citation said the Moore was allegedly in possession of the key to a 2007 Volkswagen Beetle convertible reported stolen earlier on Friday.
The citation said the car was found in an apartment parking lot on Morgantown Road where Moore was taken into custody.
Franklin Police are investigating the theft of shotgun from a residence in the 200 block of Roosevelt Avenue on Friday, May 1.
Corporal David Hutcheson's report said the shotgun is valued at $200 and there was no forced entry into the residence through a door in the area of the residence where the firearm was last seen.
The estimated time of the theft is unknown.
Franklin Police are investigating the theft of some $2,000 worth of tools from the back of a pick up truck while it was parked at McDonald's restaurant on Steele Road at about 11 a.m. Monday, April 27.
Officer Serhiy Varyvoda's report said the stolen drills, a saw all and various hand tools were owned by a Franklin man.
A Lewisburg man was injured when the car he was driving left Russellville Road ejecting him from the vehicle on Monday, April 27.
Clayton E. Wilson, 20, was taken by Franklin-Simpson Ambulance Service to Logan Memorial Hospital after the accident that happened just before 5 a.m.
Simpson County Deputy Sheriff Bart Blythe's report said Wilson was the driver and only occupant of the west bound 1998 Honda Civic that left the road in the area of 6745 Russellville Road.
The report said a witness said the car left the roadway and rolled over before coming to a stop. It said Wilson was not wearing his seatbelt and was ejected through the car's windshield and landed in a field; however, Wilson was able to return to the vehicle and was sitting in the Civic's front passenger seat when Blythe arrived.
A Gallatin, Tennessee woman was arrested on a charge of promoting contraband at the Simpson County Jail on Monday, April 27.
Jamie M. Martin, 27, was arrested by Franklin Police Office Brian Crane.
The arrest citation said Ms. Martin was allegedly found in possession of pills after she was brought to the jail following her original arrest.
A Lebanon, Tennessee woman was arrested on a charge of possession of a controlled substance - drug unspecified at Walmart on Friday, April 24.
Shelly Ann Jones, 26, was also charged by Franklin Police Officer Mike Miciotto with possession of drug paraphernalia and theft by unlawful taking under $500.
The arrest citation said Ms. Jones allegedly concealed more than $132 worth of makeup in her purse at Walmart. It also said she allegedly had in her possession three spoons with a crystal substance and numerous syringes.
