The Simpson County Sheriff's Office is investigating the theft of a longrifle from a residence in the 600 block of Morgantown Road.

 Deputy sheriff Buddy McKinney's report said the long-rifle is valued at $125 and is believed to have been stolen between Dec. 1 and Jan. 14 when the theft was reported.

 A Portland, Tennessee woman was injured in a two-vehicle collision on U.S. 31-W South at the intersection with Steele Road on Dec. 7.

 Erica Briley, 18, was taken by Franklin-Simpson Ambulance to The Medical Center in Franklin after the collision that happened at 6 p.m.

 Franklin Police Officer Mike Miciotto's report said Briley was the driver of a north bound 2003 Nissan Altima involved in the collision along with a south bound 1995 Cadillac Eldorado driven by Roger T. Swiatlowski, 71, of Franklin.

 A Franklin man was injured in a two-vehicle head-on collision on Salmons Blackjack Road on Dec. 6.

 Dusten M. Saylors, 21, was taken by Franklin-Simpson Ambulance Service to The Medical Center at Franklin and then flown to Tristar Skyline Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee.

 Simpson County Sheriff's Office Sergeant Cory Jones's report said Saylors was the driver of a west bound 2006 Nissan Sentra involved in the collision along with an east bound 2001 GMC Sierra driven by Michael P. Witt, 41, of Franklin.

 The collision happened about one-tenth of a mile north of Franklin just before 4 p.m.
