A Franklin woman received a five-year sentence after pleading guilty to 223 counts of unauthorized procurement of a controlled substance in Simpson Circuit Court.
Amy Michelle Jones, 42, received a five-year sentence on each of the 223 counts of the charge with the sentences to be served concurrently, or at the same time, for a total five-year sentence. She was fined $1,000.
Final sentencing was held on Monday, July 13.
Judge Janet J. Crocker presides in Simpson Circuit Court.
Guilty pleas were entered by four Franklin residents to a charge of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs recently in Simpson District Court.
Kenneth Wayne Carver, 28, received a 31-day sentence on the operating a motor vehicle under the influence charge with credit for time served and his license was suspended for 90 days. Carver also pleaded guilty to second-degree wanton endangerment, menacing and resisting arrest receiving a total 180-day sentence which was placed on conditional discharge for 24 months. He also pleaded guilty to failure to wear seat belts. Fines and court costs totaled $600.
A two-day sentence in the case of Tifton Caudell Gamble, 38, was placed on 24 months conditional discharge. His license was suspended for 90 days and he was ordered to pay a fine, fee and court costs totaling $729.
Also placed on 24-months conditional discharge was a two-day sentence in the case of 57 year-old Debra K. Cox. Her license was suspended for 60 days and she was ordered to pay a fine, fee and court costs totaling $729.
And, a two day sentence in the case of James C. Cauley, 56, was placed on 24 months conditional discharge and his license was suspended for 60 days. Cauley also pleaded guilty to operating on a suspended license receiving a 30 day sentence that was placed on 24 months conditional discharge. Fines and court costs totaled $600.
