A Franklin woman received an eight-year sentence in Simpson Circuit Court.

Oma L. Luongo, 49, pleaded guilty to two charges of possession of a controlled substance – cocaine and single charges of bail jumping and wanton endangerment. Credit was given for 156 days already served in jail. A fine and restitution totaled $2,111.

Judge Janet J. Crocker presides Monday, Aug. 31 in Simpson Circuit Court.

A 27 year-old Knoxville, Tennessee, man pleaded guilty to operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs in Simpson District Court.

A two-day sentence was placed on 24 - months conditional discharge in the case of Paul James Smith. His license was suspended for 30 days and Smith was ordered to pay a fine, fee and court costs totaling $754.

Judge Martha Blair Harrison presided Tuesday, Sept. 8 in Simpson District Court.
