Dear Fellow Community Member,

My name is Beth A. Fiss and I am part of the F-S Leadership Class of 2017. We have adopted the Willis House as our class project. I would like to personally invite you to help in making this a better house for our community.

If you are not familiar with the Willis House, it is the little red brick house sitting next to the Boys and Girls Club on South Court Street and across the street from the Franklin Police Department. If you drive by this house you would not be able to tell of all the good that goes on inside the walls. This small house gives hope to so many Simpson County residents. So many of our local non-profits utilize the house on a regular basis.

People Serving People serve 65 meals each week to anyone who is hungry. Boys and Girls Club have a temporary library set up for the children and cook meals in the kitchen. Community Cooking Classes are often held in this house. Room In The Inn registers guests seven days a week in the winter months and cooks lunch each day for guests.

As you can see this house is so much more than walls and windows. This house is a sanctuary for many children and adults in our community. Our class project consists of raising $15,000 by the 15th of November. After our goal is met the kitchen will receive new cabinets, sink, flooring and commercial wire shelving units. The walls will be painted an inviting and calming color. The bathroom will be updated to be handicap accessible. A sign will be place in the yard to help people locate the house more easily.

With permission our hope is to rename the house The Willis Hope House because that's just what it is ... a house of Hope.

We have many in our community who have already given financially to our project. Thank you. We have many who are willing to donate their time and resources. We are committed to this project and ask for your help in making it happen.
