A former Franklin resident, Melvin Lee Groves, age 77, of Crestwood, Kentucky, died Thursday, Oct. 3, 2019 at the Episcopal Church Home in Louisville.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Crafton Funeral Home where services were held Monday, Oct. 7 with burial in Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
A native of Robertson County Tennessee, he was the son of the late Herschel Groves and Earline Stout Groves. He was a former employee of the Lenk Company and retired from Dana Corp. after 30 years of service.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Owen Higginbotham.
He is survived by his wife, Judy Groves of Crestwood; one son, Phillip Groves of Huntsville, Alabama; one daughter, Dawn Higginbotham and husband Lee of Taylorsville, Kentucky; two step sons, Benjamin Graziano of Goshen, Ohio and Aaron Graziano of Louisville; two sisters, Janice Woodall of Franklin and Nancy Vaughn of Portland, Tennessee; one brother, Travis Groves of Portland; grandchildren, Taylor Higginbotham and Rianna Graziano; extended family, Peggy Groves and Steve Stewart along with Christine Wilkinson.
