Mildred Rowland Crafton died Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2019 at her residence.

Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Crafton Funeral Home where services were held Sunday, September 1 with burial in Stevenson Cemetery.

She was born Oct. 27, 1925 to the late Lovella Horn Rowland and George Duncan Rowland. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, George Douglas "Bob" Crafton; also two brothers, Hubert Rowland and Virgil Rowland.

Survivors are a daughter, Sherry Stinson (Merrell); two sons, Brad Crafton and Todd Crafton both of Franklin; sister, Agnes Neal of Franklin; 11 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was a lifelong member of Stevenson United Methodist Church. She loved her church and held many offices during her lifetime. She was church treasurer for 35 plus years until she was diagnosed with non-hodgkin lymphoma in 1996. She was a charter member of the United Methodist Women of Stevenson Church until her 50-year retirement.

Mildred worked as bookkeeper for Simpson County Lumber Company for many years and Simpson County Bank for 10 years when she retired.

She believed in giving your best, whatever the task and worked as an example to those around her. She loved her Lord and her church and most assuredly her loved ones, which was readily seen by all.
