Rosemary Ann Prinz Estep, age 81, of Franklin, entered into rest on Saturday, Aug. 29, 2020 at Oak Hill Senior Living in Portland, Tennessee.

A funeral mass will be held on Friday, Sept. 4, at 2 p.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 403 North Main Street, in Franklin, with burial to follow in Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin.

Arrangements are under the direction of Gilbert Funeral Home in Franklin.

Rosemary was born on March 4, 1939 in Queens, New York to the late John Prinz and the late Rose Giammona Prinz. She is preceded in death by her husband, JP Estep and sister Josephine Prinz Koubek of Williston Park, New York.

She is survived by two sons, John Estep and Joey Estep, both of Franklin; five grandchildren, Carey Massey (Ricky), Hilary Blackburn (Josh), Jeremy Estep, Magen Estep and Jay Estep; and nine great-grandchildren, Molly, Annie and Harrison Massey; Kenlee Estep; Elizabeth, Andy and Shelby Blackburn, Kenidee Estep and Adalyn Estes.

Rosemary was a 1956 graduate of William Cullen Bryant High School in Queens, New York. A resident of Woodside, New York, she met the late JP Estep at the Joseph Bulova School of Watchmaking. After marrying, the two moved to Franklin in 1958 where they owned and operated Estep Jewelers for 25 years.

Rosemary was an active member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, where she was a member for more than 60 years. She supported and participated in Simpson County Habitat for Humanity and Good Samaritan, and was a member of the Lady’s Guild at St Mary’s Catholic Church.

Visitation will be held at Gilbert Funeral Home on Thursday, Sept. 3, from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. and will continue on Friday, September 4, from 6 a.m. until 1 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy are to be made to St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 403 North Main Street, Franklin, Kentucky 42134. Donations may be mailed or dropped off at the funeral home.
