The Simpson County grand jury has indicted two Franklin residents on a charge of complicity to murder in connection with the death of a Franklin man in August 2018.

Willa-Jean Simone Davenport, 19, and Alexis Briann Oliphant, 19, were arrested on the charge.

Kentucky State Police say the charge is in connection with the death of 19 year-old Damian Cook. State police say Cook was assaulted near Brown Road on Aug. 7, 2018. He was taken to a Nashville hospital where he died four days later.

The indictments say both women allegedly gave specific information to two people that led to a physical altercation in which a victim suffered injuries resulting in his death as well as allegedly aiding and abetting the two people in carrying out the fatal beating.

Charged with murder last year in connection with Cook's death were Jordan G. Alford, 24, and Amie Jean Alford, 53, both of Portland, Tennessee.

An indictment is a formal charge by a grand jury and is not proof of guilt.
