Franklin Police are searching for a man who they said allegedly struck a police officer as he was trying to flee from police on Monday, Aug. 26.

A press release states that police were called to Walmart at 3:20 a.m. about a suspicious person who may have been on drugs.

The release says officers made contact with a male in a silver 2011 Toyota Camry who allegedly gave police a false name. It said when police ordered the male out of the

vehicle, he quickly fled in the car.

Police say as the male fled he jumped a curb and allegedly struck an officer causing a minor injury to the officer.

Officers pursued the vehicle into Allen County and terminated the pursuit when oncoming drivers became endangered.

The press release says the man has been identified as Kevin Ray Allen, 45, city of residence not available. He is a white male, five feet nine inches tall and weighs 180 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes.

The release says Allen is already a wanted fugitive.

The injured officer was treated and released at The Medical Center at Franklin.
