The Franklin City Commission approved a letter of support for a proposed apartment complex during a special called meeting on Monday, June 3.
The apartment complex is proposed on an 8.10 acre parcel which adjoins Drakes Creek and Rapids Road along Highway 100.
Hurdle Land & Realty, LLC in Lebanon, Tennessee plans to develop the property on the north side of Highway 100.
The letter also recommends approval of the plans by all appropriate local agencies

that are required to approve the development.
The commission also approved the termination and release of easement and amended easement between the city and Hurdle Land & Realty, LLC for the property where the apartment complex is proposed.
The commission approved a compliance agreement between the City of Franklin, Franklin Electric Plant Board and Tennessee Valley Authority. The agreement relates to the fiber optic system operated by the Electric Plant Board.
Commissioners approved the buyout of phone system equipment used by the city from Windstream and approved an update of the current phone system equipment through Folco Communications.
Also approved was opening of an investment account with Franklin Bank and Trust Company and opening a new money market account with South Central Bank.
A work session on the Fiscal Year 2019 - 20 city budget was also held. No action was taken following the budget work session.
