Franklin Police arrested a Bowling Green woman on two drug charges on Friday, Jan. 3.

Marguarita Ladane Whiteside, 31, was charged with possession of a controlled substance -- methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia -- buy or possession.

Officer Jenna Trodglen made the arrest on Bowling Green Road at 9:10 p.m.

According to the arrest citation, a baggie containing suspected methamphetamine and a suspected broken pipe were allegedly found in a make up bag with a identification for a Marguarita Whiteside that was allegedly found during search of a vehicle.

The citation said the vehicle was driven by another person and allegedly pulled out in front of Trodglen's patrol vehicle prior to the search.


A Franklin man was injured in a two-vehicle collision on Steele Road in the area of McDonalds restaurant Friday, Jan. 3.

Franklin-Simpson Ambulance Service transported Jessie L. Conyers, 24, to The Medical Center at Franklin following the collision, which occurred at approximately 10:10 a.m.

The Franklin Police Collision Report said Conyers was the driver of a 2014 Chevrolet Cruze involved in the collision with a 2013 Lexus RX350 driven by Martha J. Cameron, 69, of Avon, Indiana.

The report said Cameron was traveling from the McDonald's parking lot onto Steele Road and Conyers was traveling west on Steele Road when their vehicles collided.

Franklin Police are investigating the theft of $510 worth of electronic equipment from a residence in the 600 block of Brevard Street.

The offense report said the items were taken during a burglary between about noon and 11 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 3.

The report said force was used for entry and that a side door had been kicked or rammed in.

The items listed as stolen included a 55-inch television and a device used to stream television programs.

The report said a 19-inch television and DVD player had previously been stolen from the residence.
