The February 2019 term of the Simpson County grand jury has issued its final report to Simpson Circuit Court Judge Janet J. Crocker.

In its report, the grand jury said they reviewed the election materials from the May 2019 primary election. No criminal indictments were sought or issued as a result of the materials that were submitted.

No inspections of public properties were made by the grand jury. Grand jury inspections of public properties are a matter of custom only and are not required by law.

The grand jury was in session five days and heard testimony from approximately 37 witnesses. The grand jury returned 220 indictments, three no true bills and remanded one case back to Simpson District Court.

The July 2019 term of the Simpson County grand jury will be sworn in on July 10.
