A Franklin woman was arrested on a methamphetamine possession charge after police were called to an alleged shoplifter at Priceless IGA on Harding Road on Monday, June 24.
Veronica Lamarr Payne, 40, was charged with possession of a controlled substance -- methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia -- buy or possession and theft by unlawful taking shoplifting under $500.
Franklin Police Officer Travis Frank arrested Payne.
According the arrest citation, Payne was allegedly found in possession of a suspected glass drug pipe containing suspected methamphetamine residue and burn marks.
The citation also said she was allegedly in possession of a container of barbecue that was not paid for valued at less than $3.
A Franklin man was arrested on two drug charges by the Simpson County Sheriff's Office on Saturday, June 22.
Zachery Goosetree, 23, was charged with trafficking in a controlled substance -- methamphetamine and possession of marijuana.
Deputy sheriff Al Nezirevic arrested Goosetree at a residence on East Street.
The arrest citation said Goosetree was observed at the residence after deputies went there to attempt to serve a Warren County warrant.
The citation said items allegedly found in a room where Goosetree was staying included a digital scale with suspected methamphetamine on it, baggies containing suspected methamphetamine, suspected marijuana roaches and several clear un-used baggies.
An Adairville man was arrested by the Simpson County Sheriff's Office in connection with a theft in Robertson County, Tennessee.
Emmett C. Brooks, 34, was charged with receiving stolen property over $10,000.
Deputy sheriff Matt Freeman arrested Brooks at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 20 on Hobdy Road near Middleton Road.
The arrest citation said Brooks was allegedly seen in a flatbed truck that was stolen at about three o'clock that same morning.
The citation said Brooks was also allegedly in possession of keys to two Toro brand lawnmowers that were stolen.
According to the arrest citation, Freeman received a call that the truck was in a cornfield on Mennonite Church Road and that a man was seeing getting out of the vehicle and walking toward Middleton Road after which Brooks was taken into custody.
A Franklin woman was arrested on three charges after Franklin Police were called to an alleged shoplifter at Dollar General on North College Street.
Brittany Nicole Key, 27, was charged with theft by unlawful taking shoplifting under $500, drug paraphernalia buy or possession and tampering with physical evidence.
Officer Travis Frank made the arrest at an apartment on Halcomb Avenue just after 4 p.m. on Thursday, June 20.
The arrest citation said a woman was observed allegedly shoplifting from the store and then flee into a residence on Halcomb Avenue. The woman allegedly concealed items in a handbag.
The citation said Key allegedly had in her possession a backpack containing a glass pipe with burn marks. Also, a handbag with Dollar General merchandise was allegedly found in the residence.
The items valued at less than $60 allegedly taken from store were returned to the business.
