Franklin Police arrested a man on two drug related charges after determining a warrant had been issued for him.
Clifton Steven Cauley, 67, city of residence not available, was charged with possession of a controlled substance - methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia - buy or possession.
Officer Timothy Summers arrested Cauley on Sept. 7 after he was observed by Summers hitch hiking on Bowling Green Road.
According to the arrest citation, after making contact with Cauley it was determined a warrant for him had been issued in Logan County.
The citation said after being arrested on the warrant Cauley was allegedly found in possession of a metal container that contained crystal methamphetamine.
Franklin Police arrested a Portland, Tennessee man on a drug possession charge.
Raymond George Felts, 54, was charged with possession of a controlled substance -- methamphetamine.
Felts was arrested by officer Adam Bennett on Sept. 6.
According to the arrest citation, Felts was at a North Railroad Street residence where Bennett was looking for another person when it was determined that warrants had been issued in Tennessee and Kentucky for Felts.
The citation said after being taken into custody Felts was allegedly found in possession of a baggie of methamphetamine.
A Franklin man and two Franklin teenagers were arrested in connection with the alleged theft of a handgun.
Raymond Lucas, 37, was charged with receiving stolen property under $10,000, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon and tampering with physical evidence.
Trevor Wingler, 18, was charged with theft by unlawful taking contents from vehicle $500 or more but under $10,000 and tampering with physical evidence.
Joshua Ryan Brown, 19, was charged with theft by unlawful taking contents from vehicle $500 or more but under $10,000 by complicity.
The arrest warrants stated that the charges stem from the alleged theft of a handgun from a vehicle on Autumn Oaks Drive. The gun was reported missing on Aug. 12. The gun has been recovered.
Lucas was arrested Aug. 30. The arrest citation says he allegedly took possession of the handgun and allegedly hid the gun.
Wingler was arrested Aug. 30. The arrest citation said he allegedly stole the handgun from a vehicle.
Brown was arrested on Sept. 3. The arrest citation said he was there and allegedly knew the gun was stolen.
Franklin Police Officer Robert Matthews obtained the warrants and made the arrests.
A Franklin man was arrested after police say he allegedly provided marijuana to a juvenile.
Michael W. Smith, 46, was charged with second-degree unlawful transaction with a minor.
Franklin Police Detective Michael Jones obtained the arrest warrant, which said the alleged incidents happened at least five times between June 22 and Aug. 24.
Jones arrested Smith on Sept. 4.
Franklin Police charged a Covington, Tennessee man with promoting contraband after marijuana and a pair of tweezers were allegedly found in his possession at the Simpson County Jail.
Curtis Benton, 39, was also charged with second-degree disorderly conduct and drug paraphernalia -- buy or possession.
Officer Timothy Summers arrested Benton at Pizza Hut on South Main Street on Aug. 28.
According to the arrest citation, police were called to the restaurant for a possible theft. Benton allegedly began acting in a hostile manner with Summers. Benton was arrested for second-degree disorderly conduct and during a search was allegedly found in possession of drug paraphernalia.
A Franklin man was arrested on six charges including four in a warrant.
Charles Hal Yokley, 33, was charged in the warrant with criminal mischief, harassing communications, harassment and third-degree criminal trespassing.
The warrant says the charges stem from alleged incidents between March 23 and Aug. 17 involving alleged harassment and damages to a residence and a vehicle.
When the warrant was served Yokley was also charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia - buy or possession.
The Franklin Police arrest citation said items allegedly found inside Yokley's residence at the time of his arrest included marijuana, meth pipes with residue and what appeared to be crystal meth.
Franklin Police Officer Robert Matthews arrested Yokley on the warrant and additional charges on Aug. 27.
A Bowling Green man was arrested in Simpson County on a charge of sexual abuse.
Dallas G. Stradtner, 21, was arrested on the charge.
The Simpson County grand jury indictment says the charge stems from an alleged incident in May involving a female juvenile.
The arrest warrant for Stradtner was served by the Simpson County Sheriff's Office on Aug. 22.
An indictment is a formal charge by a grand jury and is not proof of guilt.
Kentucky State Police Post Three in Bowling Green investigated 98 traffic collisions during August in the post area that includes Simpson County.
Also during August, Post Three troopers and detectives issued 2,328 citations, which included 463 for speeding and 162 for seat belt violations. There were 30 DUI arrests, 1,299 complaints investigated, 43 criminal cases opened and 621 criminal arrests.
Post Three also serves Allen, Barren, Butler, Edmonson, Hart, Logan and Warren Counties.
Kentucky State Police will have periodic traffic safety check points throughout the eight counties of the Post Three area in the upcoming months.
Motorists approaching one of these check points should be prepared to produce their operator's license, valid proof of insurance, and the registration receipt for the vehicle they are driving.
