Students, families and community members can experience over 30 free and interactive stations, ranging from a Skype interview with a Disney Imagineer to creating custom mini golf courses, at FSMS's Night of Innovation from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 24.
"We're wanting to develop creativity amongst our students," FSMS teacher Justin Mitchell, who has worked to coordinate the event, said. "The goal is for them to engage, explore, create and imagine. We're excited about bringing different groups and teachers together to have fun in this environment."
Some of the other activities scheduled include escape games, blackout poetry and a presentation on puppetry from the Emmy Award-winning Sublime Media Group.
Stations will be centralized in the FSMS courtyard, with others available at locations such as the gymnasium and library. Food trucks will be available courtesy of Shogun, On the Go BBQ & Grill, Doughy & Co. and Kona Ice.
"All the stations will be hands-on," Mitchell said. "We're hoping to give the kids exposure to things they may not have experienced before, and maybe help them find new passions."
