The Simpson County grand jury has returned an indictment charging a Hartsville, Tennessee man with rape and three other charges stemming from alleged incidents involving a juvenile.
Wade Henry Stoutenburg, 57, was also charged with sexual abuse, indecent exposure and sodomy.
The indictment says the charges stem from alleged incidents between May 23, 2019 and Oct. 11, 2019.
Franklin Police investigated the case.
An indictment is a formal charge by a grand jury and is not proof of guilt.
Franklin Police say a local business was scammed out of just over $600 worth of merchandise.
The police report said the incident at Auto Zone on South Main Street was reported to police on Dec. 18, but occurred on Oct. 30.
The report said the Auto Zone store in Bowling Green called the store in Franklin asking if the Franklin store had merchandise needed by a customer that was not available at the Bowling Green store.
The merchandise was available in Franklin. The Bowling Green store sent a pin number from a business in Smiths Grove to pay for the items when the customer came to Franklin to get the merchandise.
However; it was later discovered the person using the pin was not authorized to do so.

An Orlinda, Tennessee woman was arrested by the Simpson County Sheriff's Office on a charge of second degree burglary and two other charges on Wednesday, Dec. 25.
Jourdan Murr, 23, was also charged with menacing and resisting arrest.
Deputy sheriff Cory Jones made the arrest at 2:15 p.m. after deputies allegedly found Ms. Murr inside a residence in the 3,500 block of Witt Road.
The arrest citation said Murr allegedly became combative with Jones after she was found lying on a couch and had to be restrained.
According to the arrest citation, the sheriff's office was called after a rear window of the residence was discovered broken. A doorframe of the residence was also broken.
