Right to Life chain event

Franklin Right to Life is holding a life chain praying for the unborn on Sunday, Oct. 6 from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. on the east side of Franklin's square. The group is meeting at the gazebo at 2 p.m. and plans to line Main Street on both sides of Cedar Street to Kentucky Street.

Fall Cake Walk BBQ

New Roe Lodge #592 is having a fall cake walk BBQ at 5 p.m. on Oct. 12 at Stony Point Fire Department, 47 Stony Point Road, Franklin, Kentucky. Price is $6 for a meat and two sides with dessert.

Fall Festival

New Salem Lodge #462 is hosting its annual Fall Festival on Oct. 12 at the lodge located at 821 Salem Road, beginning at 6 p.m. Dinner is $10 for adults and $5 for children ages 10 and under. The event includes an auction and a raffle. For more information, contact 270-586-5331.

Kentucky Professional Women's Week

The Franklin Business and Professional Women's Club will be celebrating KY Professional Women's Week, Oct. 20-26. To nominate someone for one of the KPWW awards OR to apply for the for the Non-Traditional BPW Scholarship please email FranklinBPW@gmail.com. Individuals do not have to be a BPW member to nominate someone for an award. Nominations accepted through Oct. 11 (at noon). BPW Woman of the Day -- 7 Phenomenal Women will be selected; BPW Woman of the Year-Must be a BPW Member; BPW Boss of the Year -- Any boss in the community is eligible (Male or Female); BPW Woman of Achievement -- Any Woman in the community is eligible; BPW Businesses Promoting Women Award -- A local Business promoting Equal Pay for women; BPW Non-Traditional Scholarship -- Two -- $1,000 Scholarships will be given.
