The Franklin-Simpson Planning and Zoning Commission approved a final development plan for a convenience type store at its July 2 meeting.

Fivestar submitted the plans for a store to include fuel pumps at the corner of Bowling Green Road and Highway 1008 just north of Patton Road.

A zone change from agriculture to highway business district for 2.67 acres at 1943 E. Cedar St. was recommended for approval. Hurdle Land and Realty requested the zone change for professional office space.

The zone change request will now go to the Franklin City Commission for consideration of approval.

The planning and zoning commission reviewed the preliminary development plan and then approved the final development plan for an addition at Virtus, formerly known as Outokumpu, on Bowling Green Road.

New planning and zoning commission members John Mayeur and Craig Mylor were sworn in during the meeting.
