The Franklin-Simpson Planning and Zoning Commission approved a zone change request and a preliminary development plan at its meeting on Sept. 1.

2C Investments requested the zone change from I-2 (heavy) to R-2 (single/duplex dwelling) for a 2.95 acre parcel at 2169 Springfield Road.

The zone change request will now go to Simpson Fiscal Court for consideration of final approval.

Planned at the site of the requested zone change is three duplexes, one per acre, with two units in each duplex.

Bud Jones submitted the preliminary development plan for multi-family units at the corner of Springfield Road (Highway 383) and Bluegrass Road (Highway 1008).

A final development plan will now be submitted for planning and zoning commission approval.

The development plan consists of six buildings with eight units in each building for a total of 48 units.
