The Simpson County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Bowling Green man on 10 charges following a traffic stop on Tuesday, Jan. 5.

Robert D. Wilson, 50, was charged with failure to dim headlights, failure of non-owner to maintain required insurance — security, operating on suspended or revoked operator’s license, possession of marijuana and trafficking marijuana less than eight ounces enhancement.

He was also charged with possession of controlled substance — methamphetamine third offense, drug paraphernalia buy or possession, receiving stolen property under $10,000, convicted felon in possession of a handgun and failure to notify the department of transportation of address change.

The traffic stop was conducted on Scottsville Road at the I-65 interchange at about 2:10 a.m.

The press release says throughout the investigation multiple different types of illegal drugs as well as drug paraphernalia and a handgun were allegedly located.

It was also learned the 2014 Chevrolet Equinox driven by Wilson was entered as stolen from Nashville.

Deputy sheriff Quintin Wright made the arrest.

Wilson was lodged in the Simpson County Detention Center.

The Simpson County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Franklin man on a methamphetamine possession charge after attempting to serve a warrant on the man on Friday, Jan. 8.

Tyler Louis Goodnight, 26, was also charged with drug paraphernalia — buy or possession.

The arrest citation said two used needles and suspected methamphetamine was allegedly found inside the room where Goodnight was at 715 North Main Street.

Goodnight was also arrested on a warrant issued in Simpson County.

Deputy sheriff Quintin Wright made the arrests at about 9 p.m.

A Bowling Green man was charged with possession of a controlled substance — methamphetamine and trafficking in a controlled substance — less than two grams of methamphetamine by the Simpson County Sheriff’s Office.

Matthew C. Cowles, 20, was also charged with drug paraphernalia buy or possession, no registration plates, failure to produce insurance card, operating on a suspended or revoked operator’s license and failure to notify address change to department of transportation.

Cowles was arrested on Sunday, Jan. 3 following a traffic stop on Gold City Road at about 11:30 p.m.

The citation said two sets of scales one with residue, $78 and suspected methamphetamine were allegedly located during a search of Cowles and the vehicle.

Franklin Police cited a Smyrna, Tennessee woman on a possession of a controlled substance — methamphetamine charge after responding to a disturbance at a motel on Sunday, Jan. 3.

Jennifer Kathryn Pinks, 43, was also cited on a charge of drug paraphernalia buy or possession.

The citation said two suspected methamphetamine pipes, a jar containing residue and a pill crusher with residue were allegedly found inside a bag in a vehicle occupied by Ms. Pinks.

The vehicle was located at Holiday Inn Express after police were called to the disturbance at Hampton Inn, both in the area of the 31-W South and I-65 interchange.

Officer Jacoby Sharklet issued the citation.

Misdemeanor drug related charges were placed against two other Smyrna residents stemming from the vehicle search.

The Simpson County Sheriff’s Office cited a Franklin woman on a possession of a controlled substance — methamphetamine charge following a traffic stop of a vehicle she was a passenger of on Scottsville Road on Thursday, Dec. 31.

Julie Murphy, 22, was also cited on a charge of drug paraphernalia buy or possession.

The citation said Murphy allegedly had possession of a straw and a dollar bill with methamphetamine residue.

The driver of the vehicle was cited for traffic violations and arrested on a probation violation.

Deputy sheriff Josh Blackburn issued the citations and made the arrest.

A Franklin man was arrested on two-drug related charges after police responded to a medical call involving another person at his Derek Drive home on Saturday, Dec. 26.

Landon Wade Belcher, 44, is charged with possession of a controlled substance — heroin and drug paraphernalia buy or possession.

The Franklin Police arrest citation said an aluminum top with suspected heroin, syringes and a spoon with a piece of cotton on it were allegedly in the residence.

Belcher was also arrested on a failure to appear charge issued in Logan County District Court.

Officer Adam Bennett made the arrests.

The Simpson County Sheriff’s Office cited two Franklin residents on drug related charges following a traffic stop on East Cedar Street on Friday, Dec. 25.

The driver of the vehicle, Dylan Sellier, 26, was charged with possession of a controlled substance — methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia buy or possession, possession of marijuana and rear license not illuminated.

The passenger of the vehicle, Emily Stinson, 23, was charged with possession of a controlled substance — methamphetamine, second degree possession of a controlled substance — drug unspecified and drug paraphernalia buy or possession.

The citations said items allegedly found during a search of the vehicle included suspected methamphetamine, a suspected marijuana roach and Miralax. One citation said drug paraphernalia was also allegedly inside the vehicle.

Deputy sheriff Wyatt Harper issued the citations.
