The Franklin-Simpson Planning and Zoning Commission recommended a zone change for a proposed new Warren RECC facility on Morgantown Road during its regular monthly meeting on Oct. 6.

Key Development and Warren RECC are seeking a zone change from Ag (Agricultural) to I-1 (Light Industrial) for more than nine acres located approximately in the 1,700 block of Morgantown Road.

The zone change request will now go to Simpson Fiscal Court for consideration of final approval.

A request by James and Gail Manning for a zone change from B-4 (Highway Business) to I-2 (Heavy Industrial) for about 3.9 acres for properties at 38, 87, 95, and 121 Brown Road was also recommended for approval.

The zone change is a correction to the existing zoning.

The zone change request will now go to the Franklin City Commission for consideration of final approval.
