In light of recent circumstances, the 4th annual “Donate Your Lunch Money” event in partnership with Hunt Ford supporting the Simpson County Backpack program will be virtual this year.

Community donations are what sustain the longevity of this much-needed program for children who are in need of food over the weekend when school meals aren’t available. Simpson County School District is at 62% free and reduced meals leaving approximately 1,860 students hungry over the weekend. Even though school is starting virtual this year, we are delivering the bags of food to each child enrolled in the program. Students who return to the traditional school setting and those continuing to learn online will receive their backpacks each Friday. Please help us continue to provide this service. We understand this is a trying time for everyone and we appreciate any support this year towards the program. Over the last three years, we have raised over $70,000 for the BackPack program. Donate Your Lunch Money is currently the only fundraiser for this program along with monetary donations received year round.

There are two options for making a monetary donation this year. Option one — online through the website: http://bit.ly/BackPackprogram2020 or option two — Call Community Education 270-223-8092 or Amanda at Hunt Ford 270-776-0566 to learn other ways you may submit your donation.
