Franklin-Simpson Planning and Zoning Commission approved preliminary plans for an Ace Hardware store and additional duplexes on Jan. 7.

An Ace Hardware store is proposed on the north side of the Priceless IGA parking lot with the back of the building facing East Cedar Street.

The proposed duplexes are on Darrell Avenue and would consist of two buildings with two duplexes in each building.

Final development plans for the hardware store and duplexes will now be presented to the planning and zoning commission for consideration of approval.

Debbie Thornton was reappointed as Franklin-Simpson Planning and Zoning Commission madam chair, Kent Wilson was reappointed as vice chairman and Julie Freeman was reappointed as secretary.

The planning and zoning commission’s regular monthly meetings are on the first Tuesday night of each month at City Hall beginning at 6:30 p.m.
