Pool and Spa Depot, one of the best-known pool and spa retailers in the Southeast, has recently purchased a 151,000 sq. ft. industrial building in Franklin, Kentucky.
This facility, formerly owned by Harman International, will become a major distribution and manufacturing facility, providing a significant amount of job openings for Franklin and the surrounding areas.
Pool and Spa Depot has already begun the warehousing and distribution of products and will be hiring 40 new staff members to work in those departments. Additionally, the company will began manufacturing luxury hot tubs during the second quarter of 2021, and will be hiring 80-100 more employees to work in the Manufacturing Department.
“We fell in love with this industrial building as soon as we set foot in it! We also love the Franklin, Kentucky location, where we were immediately welcomed by locals with a pro-business attitude,” Company President and co-owner Peter von Hoffgarten said.
Pool and Spa Depot co-owner Greg Carrell added that the location is central to potential customers.
“As our market area grows, Franklin, Kentucky will be central to many of our customers” Carrell said. “We are looking forward to doing business in Franklin, Kentucky.”
Franklin Mayor Larry Dixon said the announcement of the new local industry comes at a “great time.”
“The location of Pool and Spa Depot in our community comes at a great time” Dixon said. “Many people who have been displaced from their jobs because of the COVID-19 pandemic will be wanting to apply for the new jobs the company will be offering over the next few months.”
Simpson County Judge/Executive Mason Barnes also expressed his delight in the recent location of the project.
“This is wonderful news for Franklin and Simpson County” Barnes said. “The company is investing some $10 million in our county and will be providing eventually over a 100 jobs for our area. We really appreciate their investment.”
Pool and Spa Depot which started in the Nashville, Tennessee area in 1996 has stores now in Nashville, Brentwood, LaVergne, Clarksville and Cookeville, Tennessee as well as Bowling Green, Kentucky.
