The Franklin-Simpson Planning and Zoning Commission approved final development plans for two projects and recommended approval of two zone changes at its Jan. 5 meeting.

Final development plans were approved for duplexes at the southeast corner of Springfield Road and Schweizer Road and for Phase Two of Lexington Place located south of the hospital.

Zone changes recommended for approval included from I-1 (light industrial) to R-2 (single or duplex) at 401 and 412 South Railroad Street and from R-3 (single to limited multi family) to B-2 (general business district) at 301 South Main Street.

Both zone changes will go to the Franklin City Commission for consideration of approval.

And, a lot line modification in North Hills Subdivision was approved.

Debbie Thornton was reappointed as Franklin-Simpson Planning and Zoning Commission madam chair and Kent Wilson was reappointed as vice chairman.

The Franklin-Simpson Planning and Zoning Commission meets the first Tuesday of each month beginning at 6:30 p.m. at either the Simpson County Courthouse or Franklin City Hall.
