Stark Truss, a leading manufacturer and supplier of wood components for the construction industry, is expanding their operations in Franklin.

The company is in the process of building a new 12,000 sq. ft. building at their Franklin location that will provide lumber and product storage for the company.

“The new building will free up space in our main manufacturing facility,” Regional Sales Manager for the company Mike McKinnis said. “We will be able to add another automated saw as well as other needed equipment. This additional space will allow us to create some 20 new jobs at our location in Franklin.”

Chairman of the Industrial Authority Gary Broady said the announcement is good news for the community.

“It has been a tough year for a lot of our industries and we are very pleased that these new job opportunities are coming to Franklin,” Broady said.

Larry Dixon, mayor of Franklin, also expressed his pleasure at the announcement.

“Stark Truss is an excellent industry in Franklin and I am so pleased that they are growing and adding jobs,” Dixon said. “The company located in Franklin just a few years ago and are fast becoming one of our best industries.”

“We welcome this expansion by Stark Truss and the new jobs they are creating in Simpson County,” Simpson County Judge/Executive Mason Barnes said. “The company took a vacant building several years ago, refurbished it, and brought over 50 jobs to our area. They are a wonderful asset for our county.”

Stark Truss was founded in 1963 and is headquartered in Canton, Ohio. The company has numerous manufacturing facilities in the United States. The Franklin, Kentucky facility serves the mid-south region of the United States.
