People Serving People will prepare free Christmas meals for the community on Friday, Dec. 25 at the Boys and Girls Club of Franklin-Simpson at 103 S. Court St. from 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.
Curbside drive through and deliveries only will be available.
It is requested that meal deliveries be limited to those without transportation.
Those getting curbside drive through pick up should follow the signs and enter on East Madison Street.
To register for a meal call or text 270-776-5631 no later than 8 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 24.
Food giveaway at Harristown Church of Christ on Dec. 29The December giveaway for the Churches of Christ Food Bank at Harristown Church of Christ will be on Tuesday, Dec. 29 from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m.
The announcement of the give away says this is the same day as the Feeding America Delivery and will help with traffic flow and allows working families to have a chance to get off of work and pick up a box. A total of 110 boxes will given away, with meat in each box. This is first come first served. When those boxes are gone, canned food will be available. There is a one box per family limit. You must be present to get a box and boxes.
This is a drive by pick-up. Recipients should open their trunk if they are not able to lift their own box. Call Annie Bland, food bank coordinator, at 270-586-5915 for more information. There will not be a Saturday give away in December.
CSFP commodity pick-up happening Dec. 29The African American Heritage Center will have a commodity pick-up on Tuesday, Dec. 29 from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m.
The pick-up is drive-thru only.
This is a Commodity Supplemental Food Pro- gram for seniors age 60 and older, that live in Simpson County, are income eligible and have completed a CSFP application.
