CITY OF FRANKLIN, KY

UTILITY ASSISTANCE PROGRAM

To all interested citizens of the City of Franklin, Kentucky:

The Kentucky Department for Local Government is accepting application material under the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Coronavirus Response Utility Assistance Program. The City of Franklin intends to apply for funding to provide assistance to households/customers within the City of Franklin who have been financially impacted by COVID-19 and who are in danger of having their utilities disconnected due to the inability to make payment. The City of Franklin will hold a public hearing prior to the submission of the application. The public hearing will be held on Monday, April 26, 2021 at 11:30 am CT in the City Hall meeting room at 117 West Cedar Street, Franklin, Kentucky.

The purpose of this hearing is to obtain oral and written comments, review proposed activities, and review the proposed application.

The following information concerning the CDBG program is available for public inspection at City Hall, 117 West Cedar Street, Franklin, Kentucky during regular business hours:

A. Amount of funds available and range of activities that may be undertaken.

B. Estimated amounts of funds proposed to be used for activities benefiting persons of low and moderate income.

C. Records regarding the past use of CDBG funds.

D. A summary of other important program requirements.

Comments on Application

A copy of the CDBG application material will be on file at City Hall at 117 West Cedar Street, Franklin, Kentucky for citizens’ review and comment during regular business hours from Thursday, April 15, 2021 through Monday, April 26, 2021. Comments on the proposed application may be submitted to the attention of City Clerk Cathy Dillard until the close of business on Thursday, April 22, 2021.
