The Russellville Police Department took a man into custody this morning after he brandished a gun at the local McDonald’s.
Police responded to the Russellville restaurant at approximately 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 6 after receiving a call stating a man pulled a handgun out of his pocket while inside McDonald’s then left on foot.
When officers arrived they located the suspect Dalmetrius Hampton, 35, of Russellville, in front of Sonic.
Hampton pulled out a handgun and threw it on the ground and failed to comply with officers’ commands. He then fled on foot. After a short chase, police officers were able to catch and detain him. The gun Hampton was carrying was found to be stolen.
Hampton is being charged with two counts of wanton endangerment 1st degree, receiving stolen property/firearm, and fleeing and evading (on foot) 2nd degree. He is lodged in the Logan County Detention Center.
