WFKN Radio's annual Warming Franklin Kids Now project is underway.

New hats, scarves and gloves for children are being collected through Dec. 31.

Drop off locations include WFKN at 103 North High St., US Bank at 910 S. Main St. and Goodnight Memorial Library at 203 South Main St.


The annual Toys for Tots donation drive is underway.

Toys for Tots is a program run by the United States Marine Corps Reserve which distributes toys to children whose parents cannot afford to buy them gifts for Christmas. The program was founded in 1947 by reservist Major Bill Hendricks.

In Franklin, Toys for Tots boxes for collection of new unwrapped toys are located at the Franklin Favorite-WFKN, Kentucky Downs, Hunt Ford off of Highway 100 East, Hot Plate restaurant, Brad's Barber Shop, Simpson Circuit Court Clerk's Office, Simpson County Clerk's Office and the Simpson County Sheriff's Office.

The toys will be collected through the first week of December.
