Simpson County Clerk's Office is now accepting passport applications.

Simpson County Clerk's Office announce that it began accepting passport applications Jan. 2 on behalf of the U.S. Department of State.

U.S. citizens planning international travel may apply for their passports by appointment only on Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the County Clerk's Office. The office is also offering passport photos on site for $15. To make an appointment, call 270-586-8161.

"The County Clerk's Office is excited to provide this much needed service to the citizens of Franklin and Simpson County," Simpson County Clerk Jolene S. Thurman said in a release.
