Franklin-Simpson Fire Rescue received 37 calls during December 2018.

December's calls included seven to traffic collisions including five involving personal injury and four to an odor of smoke.

There was one call each to assist law enforcement with a swift water rescue, a structure fire, a vehicle fire, an electrical short, a controlled burn, an unauthorized burn, a natural gas leak, a grass fire and a kerosene fuel release.

The remaining calls were false alarms, canceled en route or unfounded.

The month's calls brought the total for 2018 to 443, an increase of 38 over the 2017 total of 405.
