Richard Upton, 59, of Franklin, died July 9, 2005 at the Medical Center of Bowling Green.

Funeral services were held July 12 at Crafton Funeral Home with burial at Maple Hill Cemetery in Russellville. Dr. Dick Bridges and Mr. David Hamilton officiated.

Upton was a Lebanon, Ky. native, a long-time radio announcer for WFKN in Franklin and also worked for a Russellville radio station in 1966. He was the son of the late J.T. Upton and Wilnah Pinkston Upton.

Survivors include his wife, Cindy Chaney Upton; one son, Taylor Upton of Elizabethtown; one daughter, Ellen Upton of Elizabethtown; one step daughter, April Chaney of Franklin; one brother John Upton of Russellville; one sister, Judy Upton of Memphis; and three step grandsons.
